It takes a certain amount of personal maturity to accept responsibility, not only for one's actions but also for the outcomes of those actions. It is so easy to play the blame-game and put the responsibility with someone else; "It was his or her fault", or blame circumstances, the weather, or other forces outside your own control. Only the truly mature person knows that excuses are for losers and can say: "If it is to be, it is up to me!"
