Once you have decided on a goal or a target, determine the price, i.e. what you need to do (your actions) in order to get there. Then resolve to pay that price, i.e. to get done what needs to get done. Success often comes disguised in work clothing. Dig in and go to work. When you do this consistently on a daily basis, results must come. Resolve to do what it takes.

There Are No Secrets
Everyone knows everything and everything counts. There are no secrets. What ever someone is trying to hide it will eventually be revealed. You might as well count on it and prepare for it by always telling the truth and go about your business with integrity. Reputation is one precious asset. A great question to ask yourself is: "If I had to read about this on the first page in the newspaper, would I still go ahead and do this anyway?"

Treat Your Time As Your Money
Look at your time the same way you look at your money. Time is a very precious commodity. It is a non renewable resource. Like you do with money; be conscious how you spend your time. Save time by allocating it differently. Don't waste it on mindless activities. Start considering your time as an investment to help you reach your longer term objectives.

Before You Forget
When we think of something the thought stands clear in our mind and we feel certain we will be able to remember it. However, I am sure you have experienced the same thing I have; after only a few minutes when you try to re-capture the thought, it is already gone. If it is an important thought, write it down in a place you will return to before you forget it!

Actions Trigger Change
The biggest self delusion is probably the habit of doing the same things over and over, expecting a different result every time. If you want to see change in the coming year you have to start do things differently. Change comes about as a result of applying new thoughts to new actions.

Set Realistic Goals
Effective goals must be realistic and yet inspiring. Don't set targets that are so far out of reach that you know you can not make them. To lose 5kg [11lbs] of weight in one week is an unrealistic target but over six months (200 grams per week) you can surely make it if you really wanted to. To be inspiring the goal should be slightly out of your reach. Put in a little bit of "stretch" to make it a worth while and yet realistic goal.
