When you are trying to solve a problem through creative problem solving usually the first couple of ideas are pretty obvious. Don't stop there! The best way to generate a good idea is to generate many ideas. I like the old mind quiz where you have to figure out fifty ways you can use a clay brick (or a paper clip). The ideas you get after the first twenty are usually very creative and much more interesting.
