When you start your day, take a look at all your important tasks, pick the most difficult and start by attacking that first. Stay with the task until it is completed. Then pick the next one and so on. This way you stay focused on the important stuff, you have less to worry about and get a sense of accomplishment. This way you keep your energy level high for the duration of the day and can finish with smile on your face knowing you did your best.

Drive For Closure
Always drive to get closure on your most important tasks. It drains your energy to have lots of lose ends of unfinished business all around. Create a schedule, set firm deadlines and discipline yourself to follow through to completion. Finish what you start.

Focus And Concentrate
Focus is very important when it comes to getting things done. Clarity of thought and a laser-beam focus help you get the job done. If you get easily distracted when you have many things around you develop the habit of picking one important task at a time and follow it through to completion with focus and single-minded concentration. Don't get distracted by other thoughts or outside stimulus. Turn down the volume on your e-mailbox and mobile phone if you have to. Focus and concentrate!

What's The Next Action?
If you get overwhelmed by the many different things you need to get done, remember there is only one thing you need to worry about and that is the next step. Even if you have ninety nine things on a long and daunting project to-do list, all you really need to ask is: "What is the next action?". Focus only on the next step and get it done, then move on to next item until the project is completed, one thing at a time.
